Selena and the Biebs

There are a ton of celebrity couples that annoy me...most notably brad and angelina...but today, I added another couple to my list..

Selena and Justin (if you need last names, you should probably stop reading).

First of all, she is older and taller than him. He looks like he is 12 and she could pass for 20.

They were uber secret with their relationship until recently. Kinda wish they would go back to that idea...who needs a picture like the below one that was tweeted today by Justin.

 There are too many things wrong with this picture to list so I will say nothing and let ya all ponder.

Decorating for Holidays

So holidays are kinda a big deal in the Gillespie household.

Just ask my family about the birthday parties I throw for my kids...I don't spend a ton of money but there is always a theme, balloons, confetti and a birthday quiz!

I blame my {addiction} on my mother. :)

She decorates for every holiday..and I loved it growing up.

I have since morphed into my mother in more than one way.

My extended family puts up with my ever rotating collection of holiday nick nacks, wreaths, window clings, colored lights, etc.

I find great pleasure it checking out Target and Kohls after holidays to find great deals on holiday decorations for upwards of 90% off! 

So this summer I just finished decorating with the Patriotic theme. Unlike any other time of the year, I can keep up all my decorations for almost three months! Woo hoo!

I even forgot about two hand towels and a placemat for my kitchen that is red, white and blue themed! Three hidden gems I found in my linen closet tonight (it's the little things, right?!)

A New Years post in May?! Well, you see, I am about to brag! I made two New Years resolutions that I actually kept!

Lose Weight...

Start Reading Again...

One was easier to begin than the other...care to guess which?

But don't get too excited for me...my first (entire) book that I read this year was by Chelsea Handler, Are you there Vodka, It's Me Chelsea.

As for the weight loss, I was/am successful because of a little website called www.myfitnesspal.com. (it's free)!!

Down ten lbs and only 30lbs to go...ha ha ha.

But I am committed. I am determined.

Procrastination...Part Deux

So my last blog was on April 4th...see what I mean about the whole procrastination thing I have going on? Don't get me wrong, I have a ton to write about but it really doesn't leave my head and flow out through my fingers much. This one is going to be about my favorite mommy blogs. I'll be honest, the only blogs I would read up until about three months ago were only celebrity gossip ones...but then my friend Ricki started a great blog (http://familyfunmom.blogspot.com) (she has two girls and I have two boys so sometimes I can't relate)...but she is a shopper and loves great deals and always knows what is going on in the Kettering area...so I am an avid reader of her fabulous mommy blog. One day I was perusing her blog and she listed a bunch of blogs that she follows and from there I got sucked into a blog vortex. My personal favorite mommy blog right now is Little Miss Momma (LLM) http://littlemissmomma.blogspot.com She is young, hip, crafty and mother to a two year old son. She is refreshingly honest on her blog and that is what really attracts me to read it every day (yes, she posts daily on the west coast). 

I also enjoy Not Martha (doesn't the blog name say it all?!) and Just Lovely Things. I am not a crafty person at all but I do enjoy hosting holiday dinners and the very rare dinner party. Table decorating and cupcake creating are two of my crafty things I enjoy to do. Both blogs focus on crafty stuff...from earring and necklace making to holiday fun to do for your house.

So I will be updating this blog every Friday...next up, my two New Year's resolutions that I am still keeping! Holla! Till then...
