And On Tuesday I Wore a Boot!

So on Tuesday we were lucky enough to have my Mom watch William for the night so we took Grant out to dinner and then to a swim meet to see his nieces swim. 

My wonderful accessory to my outfit was my boot I have to wear due to a hairline stress fracture. Needless to say that my foot was really swollen from standing on it for so long!

Shorts: Ann Taylor, Shirt: Target, Flip flops: Kohl's, Boot: Queen City Med Mart (and it was my most expensive accessory to my outfit).

The boot is the new flip flop {for me at least}.

So I started running about five weeks ago...

Then I purchases a running program app (C25K) and finished Day 1 Week 1 in severe pain.

Then I fell in a garage while wearing flip flops in the rain.

A couple days later I decided to run...then the pain began...then the swelling...so I waited.

After a couple days of soreness and having an ugly looking foot I went to the doctor...

A couple x-rays later they said they couldn't see a break but there was probably a hairline fracture.

So my running is on hold...and I am a little bummed.

I have eleven weeks to get better and build up my endurance to run a 5K.

So I have retired my flip flops for a boot.

InstaFriday!

So along with Thrifty Thursdays I am doing a weekly blog called InstaFriday to post pics from my iTouch that I take each week.

 I took this at the Reds/Yankees game on Wednesday. I got to stalk ARod the whole game...so it was tons of fun!

So I am training for a 5K

Did I mention that I am NOT a runner at all!

This is the girl who would seriously die during gym in highschool when we had to run a mile each semester.

I am doing this for myself.

I am doing this to lose weight.

I am doing this to better myself and my health.

Wish me luck as I begin this nine week journey.

Adventure Walk!

On a day where the boys don't go to the pool or to the park I like to take them on an adventure walk.

My adventure walks used to consist of taking our chocolate lab puppy for walks around our old neighborhood to tire him out after being inside all days while the hubs and I worked.

But now it has evolved to taking my two crazy little boys on walks to tire them out!

We walk around our neighborhood and look for fun stuff to see and do.

Sometimes we go visit the ducks.

And then we walk and check out the latest house that is being built in our neighborhood.

And last night we finished off our walk with a quick lawn moyer repair.

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N

Yes, it is that time of year again! VACATION TIME!

This year we are switching things up.

Instead of Gatlinburg, TN we are headed to Norris Lake, TN!

Someone gave us advice once and told us no matter how young the kids are...still go on vacation with them!

We listened and went to Gatlinburg when our youngest was only six months old.

The five hour ride was excruciating...lots of crying and for the last 45 minutes...a solid hysterical scream.

Needless to say, we learned that our little Grant wasn't a good traveler. 

We tried the trip again a year later (18 months). It went MUCH better...and there was a big sigh of relief.

This week we will be facing another five hour trip...here is hoping the munchkins behave and we make lost of memories!

Thrifty Thursday!

Who doesn't love a great deal, right?

So I decided I am going to start a weekly Thursday blog, entitled, Thrifty Thursday! 

I will post garage sale finds, in-store finds and online deals that make me happy! 

I haven't been to too many garage sales so I can only post an in-store deal that made me happy.


I have a serious addiction to Target and love scouring the clearance racks...the 75% racks literally pull me in.

So on my second trip to Target this week this I found this cute shirt!

I apologize for the quality of my photos...I have to take them with my cell until I find the cord that uploads the photos from my camera....it has been missing for months! :/


I got this shirt for $3.24! It is light weight, navy blue and will require a cami underneath.


You can wear it plain like above with some cute crop pants (white) or big, dramatic earrings...like the pair I just bought.

 When I wear the shirt this weekend I will pair it with this scarf (also Target).

{Junior} Picasso

So my four-year-old finished his first full year of pre-school today.

There were many highlights...Thanksgiving Program

Mother's Day gift...

And lots o lots of artwork...

And a couple {low}lights...ruining three pairs of pants and three shirts and telling his teacher he was thankful for Daddy and Toys(poor Grant and I were left off his list). Oh, did I mention this was also written in the hallway next to his name for all to see? Ha! Gotta love a four year old and his thought process!


I came to the conclusion that I {strongly} dislike any projects or art that involves pasta, rice or seeds...messy, messy, messy! =)
